When it comes to fake security cameras, the real name of the game is to make people think that they are real and one of the cheapest units I have seen in online stores that could pull this off is this 4-dollar fake dome camera that appears to be one of the most popular units on Amazon. I’m guessing part of the reason behind its popularity is because of its very pocket-friendly pricing.

It is, as expected, made of plastic but most feedback appears to indicate that it looks quite real enough. The product information on its Amazon listing claims that the dome housing or casing is actually one that is used with real surveillance cameras and that this version merely comes with a fake camera.It is designed to “imitate the small, high tech security cameras on the market today” and is equipped with a working LED light indicator to give it more of that mean look that will make anyone with a not-so-pure intent towards your home or business properties.

  • Diameter of the dome’s is about 4.5 inches
  • Dome height is about 2.75 inches

There are actually a lot of good feedback for the product, most of which refer to real it looks and how well it looks for its dirt-cheap price. One resourceful buyer even shared how he made it look even more authentic by gluing some wires to it to deceive people that it is real. One buyer gave it a 4-star and said that although the construction was sloppy (as some parts were not aligned properly), it was quite easy to fix. One buyer admitted that really looked real but recommends getting one of the higher priced ones (See my listing of dome cameras for sale here). Another user didn’t care too much about the built-in LED light indicator because he doesn’t want to have to maintain it by replacing the batteries regularly. He just screwed it in place and forgot about it.

If you are looking for cheap security cameras then there may only be few that will come cheaper than this plastic dome camera. Get a bunch!
